According to current HUD federal guidelines, only teachers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs qualify for the Good Neighbor Next Door Program, offering significant home purchase savings equal to 50% of the list price. However, the restrictions of the HUD program do not apply to the grants, down payment assistance, and various incentives available through the Next Door Programs® and its six specialized sub-programs. These expanded options help even more public service professionals find affordable homeownership opportunities with fewer restrictions and more financial support.
